EQUAL OPPORTUNITY CELL (EOC)

Equal Opportunity Cell has been established by the college with the aim of addressing issues pertaining to discrimination, harassment, and exclusion that may be based on caste, gender, religion, ethnicity, disability, or any other characteristic.

Objectives of an EOC

• “To oversee the effective implementation of policies and programmes for disadvantaged groups, to provide guidance and counselling with respect to academic, financial, social and other matters and to enhance the diversity within the campus.”
• To promote diversity, inclusiveness among students, teaching and non-teaching staff by eliminating discrimination and ensuring equal opportunity for all.
• To create safe and welcoming environment for all students, faculty, and victimization based on caste, religion, gender or disability.
• To provide support and guidance to individuals who have been subjected to discrimination and to provide a platform for students and staffs to report incidents of discrimination or harassment they may face in the institution and ensure that appropriate action is taken to address their concerns.
• To raise awareness about issues of diversity, inclusion and equal opportunities, and to conduct training programs, workshops, and seminars to sensitize the issue.
• To take such follow up measures for achieving the objectives and targets laid down for the purpose by the Government of India or state government and AICTE.

Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell

An Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Cell is a unit that provides guidance and awareness on intellectual property rights (IPR) to students, faculty, and research scholars at an institution. IPR Cells also protect the interests of inventors and promote an IPR culture at the institution. 

Functions of an IPR Cell

• Educate: Provide awareness on IPR practices and rules 
• Protect interests: Safeguard the interests of inventors in the creation and commercialization of intellectual property 
• Promote culture: Promote an IPR culture that is compatible with the institution's educational ethos 
• Identify and protect innovations: Identify and protect innovations that arise from research work 
• Transfer knowledge: Facilitate that transfer knowledge and technology from the institution to industry 
• Provide assistance: Provide assistance to local innovators 
• Develop policy: Act as a think tank on IPR policy matters in India 
• Train: Provide training on patent filing processes 
• Conduct workshops: Conduct workshops, seminars, and training courses on IPR 
• Create opportunities: Create opportunities for product development and commercialization

MEDIA CELL

Media Cell is an integral part of a successful institution. Its sole purpose is to ensure that the college remains in focus of news media and other media. The team works towards publishing and distributing information on the various activities, achievements and successes of the institute through various print, electronic, digital and social media channels.

The members of Media cell committee carry out functions that are relevant within the scope of the committee. The members of Media cell present content for periodic updating of the Institution website. Also, the official Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Linkedin and Twitter pages of the Institution.

Objectives & Functions

• Media Cell work is to keep our college website up-to-date and ensures that all the important information is easily accessible to the right audience. Programmes, seminars, events, achievement records, alumni profiles, faculty connect and latest newsletters/newspapers are updated on daily basis.
• Media Cell is responsible for managing events and updates on social media accounts like Face book, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
• Media cell is also responsible for interviewing various stakeholders and guests on the latest educational trends.
• Media Cell is responsible for public relations of the college. It is engaged in disseminating information to the press, television and radio channels through news releases and interviews.
• Media cell has to undertake promotional activities about the college such as printing of pamphlets/brochures, producing videos /documentaries and erecting banners/hoardings in attractive way for the benefit.
• Media cell has to records all the updates made in media.

Cultural Committee

The cultural activity team of polytechnic aims to encourage student's interest, participation, and responsibility in the ingenious field through a medium of creative art and literary curriculum & Scope, under the direction of the faculty Coordinator.

Objectives of the committee are as follows

• To create the platform that provides the students with an opportunity to display creative talents in various fields like dancing, acting, singing, mime etc.
• To hold cultural & intellectual activities & organize various events like College day, Ethnic day, cultural celebrations & talents day in college.
• To orient the students towards the standards of equality, to experience the other dimensions of lives apart from academic.
• To organize cultural events & meet ups at the Inter college & Intra college level.
• To encourage the teaching staff to plan cultural activities for the students to enhance the passion & energy round the year.

Cultural Co-ordinators

Discipline Committee

Objectives

• To cultivate self-discipline habits and sense of responsibility among students.
• To encourage good practices.
• To develop and maintain a positive campus discipline, cultivating an orderly college environment.
• To ensure a calm and peaceful academic atmosphere in the campus.
• To restrict loitering, noise-making and idling inside the college campus.
• To take up measures to curb inappropriate behavior, including punishment action comprising suspension and expulsion where necessary.
• To ensure students to wear their ID Cards and uniform while they are in the campus and their respective classrooms.

Library Committee

Objectives

• To formulate policies and procedures for efficient use of Library resources.
• To work towards modernization and improvement of Library and documentation Services.
• To review Library readership dept-wise.
• To prepare budget and proposals for the development of the Library.
• To submit the annual report on the functioning of the library.
• To adopt measures to enhance readership.

Magazine Committee

Objectives

• Provide a platform for students to express themselves through various forms of writing like articles, comments on current topics, literary/creative writing.
• To Provide a medium for exchange of thoughts and information.
• To develop and cultivate in students the literary taste and study habits.
• To update and inform students concerning student relevant topic.

Innovation Cell

Objectives

As per the guidelines of AICTE Innovation Cell is formed with the objective of creating awareness among the students about the significance of Innovation in the core fields of Education and sow the seeds of innovation in their minds

Literary Committee

Objectives

This committee aims to sharpen and enhance the knowledge of students in writing skills, public speaking.

• To provide opportunities to improve outlook towards life & organize various events which becomes a forum for discussion, debates, essay writing, quiz & oratorical skills.
• A lot of importance is given to enhance the interest of the students as part of this committee.
• Literary committee aims to develop analytical & creative thinking skills.
• Literary committee organizes events to develop self efficacy & confidence would help to enhance the general knowledge base.
• To provide opportunity to participate in Inter college competitions for students to develop excellent communication skills.
